I’ve been meaning to post Pharoahe Monch’s latest video for a while now and have finally come around to it. I’ve been following his career path for over a decade now and I have to say that he is one of my favorite lyricists with something significant to say and his own unique & complex style! For “Still Standing” Pharoahe Monch had the pleasure to be supported by one of my all time favorite vocalists – soul diva Jill Scott herself. Listening to her powerful voice again also led me to posting an original of hers (Comes To Light), another feature supporting Lupe Fiasco (Daydreamin’) and one absolute classic that Jill actually wrote for The Roots (You Got Me feat. Erykah Badu). Make sure to also check out this amazing live version of “You Got Me” where Jill Scott is performing with The Roots! So nice!
