Whitney Elizabeth Houston – August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012
Some of Miss Houston’s and my own words to describe how a lot of us might feel right now.
This is a letter to Whitney…
We all have BITTERSWEET MEMORIES of you… You said IF I SHOULD DIE THIS VERY DAY, DON’T CRY ‘CAUSE ON EARTH WE WASN’T MEANT TO STAY… You were right! None of us is meant to stay but we would have loved you to stick around a little while longer.
Didn’t you say SOMETIMES YOU’LL LAUGH, SOMETIMES YOU’LL CRY?! LIFE NEVER TELLS US THE WHEN’S OR WHY’s…?! We certainly don’t know why you had to leave so soon. Right now we’ll laugh AND cry, listening to your music – the joy that you’ve left behind.
Time to EXHALE, for you and us… YOU were EVERY WOMAN Whitney. YOU have us SO EMOTIONAL and you gave us more than just ONE MOMENT IN TIME.
We could ask ourselves WHY DOES IT HURT SO BAD and you might have told us IT’S NOT RIGHT BUT IT’S OK… This is beyond us and IF I TOLD YOU THAT you were one of the most talented & gifted female vocalists out there it would not change a thing about the fact that you are gone.
At least now we KNOW WHERE (DO) BROKEN HEARTS GO. SO GOOD BYE… PLEASE DON’T CRY… WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU.
Too many beautiful songs to pick from but these following two I connect with the most through personal memories.
