Gotye & Kimbra – an exotic import creating a buzz!

Blend together Belgium, Australia and New Zealand and what you will get is an original sounding track called “Somebody That I Used to Know“! Gotye collaborating with Kimbra resulted in several different awards, top chart positions in different countries and an ongoing buzz even in America. Gotye’s original name is Wouter “Wally” De Backer. He is a Belgian-Australian singer-songwriter who’s voice is easily comparable to Sting’s sound. “Somebody That I Used to Know” is strangely catchy and captivating, even catching people’s attention that might not be into “this kind of music” usually – and music becomes best when it is capable of crossing boarders!

Hear for yourself, give it a listen, stay open minded – you might end up loving it!

I also have to mention that there is a group of five artists that profited immensely from Gotye’s buzz by putting their own spin on it, playing ONE Ukulele at the SAME time. Their name is “Walk off the Earth“. After going viral with their video, they are pretty much splitting Gotye’s success in half. Great idea and very creative, however, I personally like the original better. Check it out…
