NYCROPHONE went on a little break due to VIMEO issues that had us switching everything exclusively to YouTube. We are BACK NOW and ready to deliver more mesmerizing music to your screens & speakers! So plug in, share, be inspired, subscribe and spread the word!
Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” has brought Kimbra to everybody’s attention and gave her the buzz that she needed to really take off. She’s been around for a little while before but I feel like her career has really taken off now.
Kimbra is a fashionable & creative artist with a beautiful voice and great feel for music. She is also using the looping techniques we’ve seen so many times before by artists like Jarle Bernhoft and Ebrahim!
See for yourself and watch these two videos of Kimbra performing live at the “Sing Sing Studios”.

I have to admit, it took me some time to get used to Maverick Sabre’s special voice and style of singing. I wasn’t a big fan of the couple of songs I heard, didn’t really give him a chance at first even though I knew people were really digging him (YES BETTY, YOU were right!).
A couple of days ago I came across a few acoustic/live sets of his and I had to change my mind about Maverick. While still not being a big fan of some of his previous released tracks I DID LOVE the following performances and had to post them before April was over!
First of all, THANKS for all the people coming BACK to check on NYCROPHONE, our NEW audience and random by-passers! Your feedback is very much appreciated and please DO share with all your friends…
Now to today’s content. First time I’ve heard about Ed Sheeran was when my gifted singer friend Acantha (CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT HER FIRST NYCROPHONE FEATURE) mentioned him. Shortly after I saw Ed’s appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show singing his debut single “A-Team”. I was quite impressed with this beautiful song. Unfortunately there was no emb.ed-able version so I had to pick a different performance. So enjoy checking out “A-Team” but also “Kiss Me“, a performance he did for Perez Hilton.
Ed Sheeran has already won numerous awards and puts up incredible numbers. Make sure to visit his website and read up on this young talented singer-songwriter from – where else but – the UK!

Prince recently called up Lianne La Havas, asking her to record a few songs with him.
THAT says something. Talent recognizes talent. Prince is said to be a big fan of hers.
Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lianne La Havas was born in London and is signed to Warner Bros. Records.
“No Room For Doubt” caught my attention first a little while ago and after her recent piece “Lost & Found” this young gifted lady left me no choice but feature her on NYCROPHONE.
Enjoy Lianne’s music and support artists by buying their music! Share, like and subscribe for updates. Thank you.

My friend and brilliant photographer Charlie Wan (make sure to check out his work!) had Alex Clare’s official video for “Too Close” posted on his page and I was curious enough to check it out. I like the regular version of this track but I love the unplugged version I found. Alex definitely brings some soul to NYCROPHONE.
Alex Clare was born in London, UK. He grew up listening to his father’s jazz records, was drawn to blues and soul and eventually the drum’n'bass and UK garage sounds. I think it’s pretty apparent in the original version of this song.
“Too Close” was featured in a Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 commercial this year!
