Thanks to my buddy Christopher Lee from Sydney I discovered this absolutely awesome acoustic “mashup” by Ed Sheeran & Passenger, performing No Diggity & Thrift Shop (Blackstreet & Macklemore/Ryan Lewis). I knew right away that this HAD to go on NYCROPHONE because it’s a perfect combination – both tracks AND both singers!
I’ve featured Ed Sheeran before (CLICK HERE FOR THE PREVIOUS POST) but I have no idea how I overlooked Passenger aka Mike Rosenberg until now – his voice is truly unique! I wanted to make sure to feature both of these guys together & individually.
Check out all four videos. This is real music, making you smile, making you think, making you dream, making you realize that there IS heartfelt pure music out there succeeding in big ways.

Here is a little WIKIPEDIA info on Skye: “Skye Edwards (born Shirley Klaris Yonavieve Edwards, 27 May 1974) is a British singer-songwriter, born in East London. Her career began in 1994 when she and the Godfrey brothers (DJ Paul Godfrey and multi-instrumentalist Ross Godfrey) formed the band Morcheeba, which released five albums with Skye as lead vocalist. Since exiting the band in 2003, Skye has released three solo albums: Mind How You Go in 2006, Keeping Secrets in 2009, and Back to Now in 2012.”
FOR THE FULL STORY CLICK HERE!
I used to listen to Morcheeba a lot a long time ago but was never really aware of Skye’s solo projects.
I’ve always loved her voice and her solo songs are very pretty, including a lot of positive vibes and words that all of us can use well these days…
Enjoy Skye’s music as our last feature of February 2013.
Share the love, hit LIKE if you are feeling her music and keep spreading positivity.

I’ve been meaning to post about The Weeknd for a while now. I got into his music over a year ago after checking out quite a few tracks through my friend Roxanne. I know most of you already found out about Abel Tesfaye – the young, talented & highly praised Ethiopian-Canadian recording artist and producer from Scarborough but still – here are NYCROPHONE’s top picks!
I really love the gritty and dark sound of “Initition“, pitching his voice into different directions. “The Zone” includes a nice little feature by Drake. “Montreal” has a little bit of an Enigma feel to it I think. Anybody remembering them?
To be quite frank, I don’t even really listen too much to what The Weeknd is singing about. I just truly love his sound. Perfect tunes for letting it just run in the background and relax. Sexy music… Trust!
