Born in Stoke Newington, a London borough of Hackney, Szjerdene started her first musical steps at the age of nine.
By the age of 17 she already had written over 30 songs and began teaching herself guitar. She hasn’t stopped since, continuing to study music and perform whenever and wherever she can.
In 2013 Szjerdene had an act with Bonobo as vocalist for their album The North Boarders.
Her inspiration comes from many different artists as Sarah Vaughn, Amy Winehouse, Etta James, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin, Gaye, Aaliyah, Prince – just to name a few!
We’ve put together a small playlist for you, including songs from her Patchwork EP.
Her voice is strong but fragile, very distinct and different. Turn up the volume and enjoy her style. We’re expecting a new EP to be released by her this summer. Can’t wait to hear what else this young lady has in store for us.
